We are seeking experienced nurse scholars to teach and mentor doctoral students in our fully online PhD in Nursing program. As Walden grows, we continue its tradition of quality. The School of Nursing seeks faculty for the PhD program. Share your professional experience and academic knowledge with students across the country and around the world. With a computer and a high-speed Internet connection, you can work on your own schedule while supporting other professional and personal commitments.

All new Faculty Members receive specific training from Walden University in the techniques of teaching, use of an electronic learning platform, dissertation management technologies, specifics of the policies, procedures and degree programs of the School or College in which they are going to teach, socialization into the Walden University culture, assessment of academic integrity of student work (including use of ), and research supervision of dissertations.

Candidates must hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in nursing and an earned PhD or doctoral degree (preferably in Nursing or a closely related field) from an accredited institution. An active, current, and unrestricted RN license in one of the 50 U.S. states is required, and faculty must maintain all appropriate credentials and licensure throughout their appointment.

Successful candidates will demonstrate a strong record of scholarships, including research, publication, committee service, and academic advisement. Preferred areas of expertise include nursing theory, research methods, leadership, nursing education, and population health.
