Director of Out-of-School Time (OST)

Elsie Whitlow Stokes Community Freedom Public Charter School is seeking an experienced and collaborative Director of Out-of-School Time (OST) to provide leadership for year‑round programming across our Brookland and East End campuses.

The OST Director will oversee before‑school, after school, summer, Saturday, and other extended‑learning opportunities designed to provide students with engaging academic, enrichment, social‑emotional, recreational, and youth‑development experiences.

• Provide strategic and day‑to‑day leadership for OST programming across both campuses.
• Supervise, coach, and support After school Coordinators and assigned OST staff.
• Develop consistent program structures, schedules, procedures, and expectations across campuses.
• Ensure programming provides high‑quality academic support, enrichment, physical activity, social‑emotional learning, leadership development, and opportunities for student voice and choice.
• Partner with school leaders and instructional staff to align OST programming with student needs and school priorities.
• Recruit, onboard, develop, and support OST staff.
• Coordinate and monitor community partners, enrichment providers, vendors, and subcontractors.
• Oversee student enrollment, attendance, participation, and retention, with a focus on equitable access to programming.
• Build strong, proactive communication and engagement with families.
• Monitor program data and outcomes and use findings to strengthen program quality.
• Maintain required documentation and support compliance with Learn
  24 and other grant or funding requirements.
• Coordinate with Operations and Finance on program logistics, purchasing, contracts, invoices, meals/snacks, transportation, space, safety, and other operational needs.
• Ensure OST programs provide safe, inclusive, culturally responsive, and engaging environments for students.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required; degree in education, youth development, nonprofit management, public administration, or a related field preferred.
• Five years of progressively responsible experience in out‑of‑school‑time programming, youth development, education, or a related field preferred.
• Demonstrated experience supervising staff and managing complex programs.
• Strong project‑management, organizational, communication, and relationship‑building skills.
• Experience working with community partners, vendors, or subcontractors preferred.
• Experience with grant‑funded programs, compliance, reporting, or government‑funded programs strongly preferred.
• Ability to use data to monitor participation, program quality, and outcomes.
• Knowledge of Positive Youth Development, social‑emotional learning, restorative practices, and youth engagement preferred.
• Experience working with elementary‑aged students and families strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated commitment to educational equity and serving culturally, linguistically, and economically diverse students and families.

This is a full‑time, year‑round position. The schedule must be flexible to support before‑school, after school, summer, school‑break, and occasional Saturday programming.
