Overview

Provides preventive cleaning services for CDC and Youth Center Federal Agency in accordance with departmental policies and procedures. This position is responsible and will be held accountable for behaving in accordance with divisional and organizational RISE values and expectations.

• Maintains cleanliness in assigned areas of the facility.
• Performs cleaning duties such as dusting lights, furniture, and other horizontal surfaces, dry mopping hard floor surfaces, vacuuming carpets, emptying and cleaning trash containers and ashtrays, spot cleaning walls and windows (interior and exterior), and using the high-speed buffer to burnish hard floor surfaces.

• Clean/sanitize tables, chairs, and highchairs.
• Clean/sanitize food preparations and diaper changing stations and adjacent wall.
• Clean/sanitize children’s toilet and fixtures.
• Clean/sanitize trash containers and diapers pails.
• Cleans and maintains assigned equipment.
• This position requires frequent lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of up to 40 pounds. Prolonged walking and standing are required as well as frequent bending, reaching and stooping.

• Notifies supervisor of equipment and facilities needing repair or replacement.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

• Ability to pass FBI background and fingerprint check
• Must have or be able to obtain annual/periodic Immunizations- (Paid for by GGW)- Flu, Mumps, Rubella, Diphtheria, Hepatitis B, Tuberculosis Skin Test, Measles, Tetanus, Polio, Varicella
• Ability to successfully complete Annual Child abuse training, Air Force Hazardous Communication, HAZMART, and hazardous waste training. (by Gov certified trainer)
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to decipher/comprehend signs indicating danger.
• Skilled in the knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment such as a scrubber and extractor.
• Ability to obtain security clearance to work at assigned work site.

• One year’s previous custodial experience on a federal contract or commercial cleaning site.
