About the Role:

The Floor Technician (Part-Time) plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and aesthetic appeal of flooring surfaces within the Stoddard Baptist facility. This position ensures that all floor areas are properly cleaned, polished, and maintained to meet health and safety standards, contributing to a welcoming and professional environment. The role requires attention to detail and the ability to operate various floor care equipment efficiently.

The Floor Tech will collaborate with the facilities management team to schedule and execute routine and special floor maintenance tasks. Ultimately, this position supports the overall operational excellence of the business services by ensuring that floor surfaces are safe, clean, and visually appealing at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

* High school diploma or equivalent.

* Previous experience in floor care or janitorial services preferred but not required.

* Ability to operate floor cleaning machinery safely.

* Physical ability to perform manual labor including standing, bending, and lifting for extended periods.

* Basic understanding of safety procedures related to cleaning chemicals and equipment.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Certification in floor care or related maintenance training.

* Experience working in a healthcare or business services environment.

* Knowledge of different floor types and appropriate cleaning methods.

* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

* Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members and supervisors.

Responsibilities:

* Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of all types of flooring including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, waxing, and polishing.

* Operate floor care equipment such as buffers, scrubbers, and polishers safely and effectively.

* Inspect floors regularly to identify areas requiring special attention or repair and report any safety hazards.

* Follow established cleaning schedules and protocols to ensure consistent floor care standards.

* Maintain cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition and report any malfunctions.

Skills:

The required skills enable the Floor Tech to efficiently and safely operate cleaning machinery and apply appropriate cleaning techniques to various floor surfaces, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and safety. Attention to detail is essential for identifying areas that need special care or repair, which helps prevent accidents and maintains the facility's professional appearance. Physical stamina and manual dexterity are used daily to perform labor-intensive tasks such as scrubbing and polishing floors.

Preferred skills, such as knowledge of different floor materials and certification in floor care, enhance the technician's ability to select the best cleaning methods and products, improving the longevity and appearance of floors.
