Position: Ability One Custodian- General Cleaning FT (Overnight)

10 pm to 6:30 am

Provides routine and preventative cleaning services in common areas to include all building entrances at Senate Office Buildings. All cleaning will be conducted in accordance with GGW departmental policies and procedures to include all safety and sanitation policies. This requires candidate be able to maintain a positive customer focus. This position is responsible and will be held accountable for behaving in accordance with divisional and organizational RISE values and expectations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Cleans and polices common areas to include stairs, entrances inside and out in accordance with GGW policies and procedures.

Dusts all common area surfaces including lights, ledges, walls, vents, etc.

Gather and empty all trash containers in the common areas to include wiping and sanitizing trash containers as needed.

Ability to identify proper supplies and cleaning materials that match to each surface to be cleaned.

Clean floors by sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, spot cleaning.

Ensure floors are routinely policed for trash and/or debris.

Follows all GGW safety and sanitation policies and procedures while on premises and demonstrates understanding of procedures regarding proper cleaning technique avoidance of cross contamination.

Communicates potential hazards, need for supplies, need for repair of broken equipment or policy violations.

Ability to interact/project with public in a positive and courteous manner.

Ability to navigate through complicated floor layouts to move from point to point in a crowded setting.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Cleans and maintains assigned equipment.

Back up restroom cleaners as needed.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Ability to obtain security clearance.

Ability to follow instructions.

Ability to decipher/comprehend signs.

Three-six months previous cleaning or related experience. Approved custodial training program may substitute for experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

One year’s previous custodial experience on a federal contract or commercial cleaning site.
