The UP Home is seeking an independent living housekeeper to join our team! This person will work in independent living apartments and common areas keeping them in a presentable, safe and clean condition. This housekeeper position performs a variety of housekeeping and other tasks as they relate to maintaining our campus. Independent Living Housekeepers work a Monday-Friday, 1st shift schedule with no weekends or holidays required!
EssentialRoles & Responsibilities
- Practice infection control, universal precautions, and other preventive and protective safety procedures as instructed.
- Clean all common areas and rooms by sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, scrubbing, and polishing.
- Empty and sanitize trash containers in common-use areas.
- Move, rearrange, and dust furniture and fixtures.
- Mix and blend cleaning solutions to proper concentrations for each task and ensure that the lasting odor or solutions do not cause any irritable conditions to people or pets.
- Clean and polish all entryway and lobby glass, doors, and furniture; vacuum and mop the entryway floor as needed; dust drapes and mini-blinds as needed.
- Buff, scrub, and polish highly visible and heavily used areas needing extra attention as needed.
- Perform miscellaneous light repairs as able.
- Report repair needs to the supervisor or Main Office so a work order can be initiated.
- Appropriately report resident environment concerns and when resident declines housekeeping services to the supervisor.
- Attend and participate in all staff meetings and keep information confidential as appropriate.
- Maintain a team approach toward all staff and be a strong team member as part of the environmental staff.
- Perform and assist in other assignments as needed and directed by the Supervisor.
- Friendly personality, with a customer service mindset.
- Ability to act professionally at all times with respect and dignity for residents, staff and family members.
- The ability to work alongside other members of the UP Home team, including other housekeepers, team members from other departments and administration.
- Willingness to be flexible with time and responsibilities.
- Self-starter attitude with great communication skills.
- The ability to routinely engage in physical activity while cleaning/straightening resident apartments and common areas.
