Location:

Buckley, Washington. The position begins with a full‑time, temporary onboarding period and then transitions to on‑call status with shifts scheduled as needed, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

• Ensure the safe and efficient operation of a high‑pressure steam plant with two steam‑generating boilers.
• Monitor, inspect, and repair gauges, valves, pumps, boilers, electronic controls, and safety equipment to maintain continuous operation of the steam‑boiler system.
• Operate and maintain auxiliary systems, including feed‑water and condensate pumps, deaerators, air compressors, fuel systems, and emergency generators.
• Troubleshoot and perform both minor and major repairs on boiler and HVAC systems.
• Interpret schematics, drawings, and operating manuals to support proper operation and equipment upgrades.
• Operate and adjust Cleaver‑Brooks Boiler Management (HAWK) systems as needed.
• Conduct equipment testing, water treatment, and blow‑down procedures to ensure safe and compliant operations.

• Ability to safely work from ladders or elevated platforms, including in high ambient temperature environments.
• Proficiency in using personal computers and Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact respectfully and effectively with individuals who have limited sensory and physical abilities.
• Demonstrated commitment to treating all individuals with dignity, respect, and cultural sensitivity.
• Ability to collaborate professionally with coworkers from diverse backgrounds.
• Flexibility and responsiveness to address facility maintenance needs, including after‑hours and emergent situations.

• Three years of experience in the operation, maintenance, and/or repair of stationary or marine high‑pressure boilers and heating systems.
• Completion of an advanced Stationary Engineer course from an accredited vocational/technical school or community college, and two years of experience in the operation, maintenance, and/or repair of stationary or marine high‑pressure boilers and heating systems.
• One year of State service as a Stationary Engineer 1.
