Long Term Substitute Custodian - Swing Shift

Facilities Worker

This is a non-continuing position during the 2026-27 school year.

Position

Description:

Perform routine task assignments to maintain school district standards of cleanliness and upkeep of facilities.

Areas of Responsibility:

Clean and sanitize restrooms and shower rooms and fixtures in both facilities in accordance with established practices and procedure.

Ability to run computer applications and programs (WORD, EXCEL, ADOBE, GMAIL, GOOGLE DRIVE ETC)

Dust and wipe furniture; sweep, mop or vacuum floors; empty wastebaskets and trash containers; replace light bulbs; refill tissue and restroom dispensers.

Set up facilities for meetings, classrooms, conferences, events.

Wash windows, walls and equipment.

Lock and unlock buildings; secure building when faculties are not in use by checking for unlocked doors and windows; report any unauthorized occupants.

Follow instructions regarding the use of chemicals and supplies.

May move furniture, equipment, supplies and tools.

May pick up and deliver school district mail for district office.

May clean and paint surfaces.

May manually or with self-propelled equipment remove snow or debris from sidewalks, stairs, driveways and entry ways.

Rake leaves and sweep debris; remove debris from school grounds; remove snow and ice from outside entrances, sidewalks, driveways and access roads.

Respond to damage caused by vandalism immediately.

Organize and maintain storage areas, custodial closets and maintenance work stations.

Clean and line garbage cans, clean classroom waste baskets.

Remain at duty site the entire shift for emergency and security purposes.

Respond to security system alarms.

Event nights and athletic events - check doors to ensure facilities are ready, periodic check of garbage and bathrooms. Empty all garbage at the end of the evening and clean stadium bleachers and gym bleachers.

Perform related duties as required; additional duties may be assigned by the supervisor or superintendent.

• Contract:
  
  260 Days, 8 hours a day, 2:20 pm to 11 pm.
• Benefits:

  * May not qualify depending on how long the position with last.
• Personal Days/Sick Leave: up to 12 sick days per school year and up to 3 days per year.
• Holidays:
  Up to 12 paid holidays each year.
• Retirement:
  Two plan choices available with DRS, Plan 2 and 3., if qualified. Depends on the length of how long the position will last.
• A post offer physical is required by our ESD
  105 Workers Co-Op and to be performed at KVH Workplace Health in Ellensburg.
• Max hourly wage is with 25 years of school district experience.

Start Date:

• ASAP or within 2 weeks of accepting the position.
