Job Description: Keeps school buildings, rooms, and grounds in clean and orderly condition by performing the following duties. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.

• Sweep, mop, scrub, clean windows, dust, vacuum classrooms, gymnasiums, cafeterias, hallways, stairs, office space, and restrooms.
• Empties trash and garbage containers.
• Maintains buildings, performs minor and routine painting, plumbing, electrical wiring, and small maintenance activities.
• Notifies the principal concerning the need for major repairs.
• Cleans snow and debris from sidewalks and other areas as required.
• Prepares buildings for meetings and programs.

Minimum Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must have current valid Washington State Driver’s License, be trustworthy and safety conscious, and have the ability to work independently with good initiative. • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with various concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
