Job SummaryThe Part-Time Summer Maintenance Worker is responsible for assisting with the maintenance, repair, appearance, and general upkeep of school and parish facilities during the summer months. This position helps ensure that buildings, grounds, and equipment are safe, functional, clean, and well-maintained in preparation for the upcoming school year and parish activities.
Job Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs to buildings, equipment, and facilities.
- Complete painting, touch-up work, and general maintenance projects as assigned.
- Assist with grounds maintenance, including mowing, trimming, weeding, and general landscaping.
- Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of school and parish property, including outdoor areas.
- Move furniture, equipment, and supplies as needed to support maintenance projects and facility preparation.
- Identify maintenance issues and report repairs requiring specialized service.
- Operate and properly maintain maintenance equipment and tools in a safe manner.
- Follow all safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Assist with summer facility improvement projects and classroom setup.
- Perform other maintenance-related duties as assigned.
- Previous maintenance, custodial, landscaping, or general labor experience preferred.
- Basic knowledge of building maintenance, painting, and groundskeeping.
- Ability to safely operate hand and power tools.
- Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to complete assigned tasks efficiently.
