This is a construction project with an expected duration of one (1) to two (2) years. The anticipated start date is July 2026. The rotation will be four (4) weeks on and two (2) weeks off. The typical schedule is 84 hours per week (40 hours straight time and a minimum of 44 hours at time and a half). All meals and lodging are provided by Worley while the employee is on location.
Transportation between Anchorage and Prudhoe Bay is provided.

Job PurposeThe structural welder/fitter fabricator performs welding of metal components for fabrication or repair of machine parts, plant equipment and structures according to layout, blueprints or work orders using brazing and a variety of arc and gas welding equipment.
Essential Job Functions- Lay out, fit, and weld fabricated, cast, and forged components to assemble structural forms such as machinery frames, tanks, pressure vessels, furnace shells, and building and bridge parts, according to blueprints and specifications.
- Select equipment and plan layout, assembly, and welding, applying knowledge of geometry, physical properties of metals, welding shrinkage, and welding techniques.
- Lay out, position, align, and fit components together; bolt, clamp, and tack‑weld parts to secure them for welding.
- Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions; examine weld for bead size and other specifications; clean or degrease weld joint or work piece.
- Set up equipment and weld parts using arc, gas‑shielded arc, submerged arc, or gas welding equipment.
- Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts using cutting torch, straightening press, and hand tools.
- Complete records, maintain tools and equipment, and perform cleanup and housekeeping activities.
- Knowledge of AWS, ANSI and ASME codes; welding equipment, electrodes, fluxes, shielding gases, and welding processes.
- Knowledge of carbon steel and other alloy metals, including stainless steel and aluminum; knowledge of welding electrode sizes and grades, proper use, and appearance of fit‑up and cleaned surfaces.
- Ability to properly use and care for tools and equipment and welding electrodes on an industrial project.
- Ability to operate hand tools and power tools associated with the welding process; to prep steel shapes.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and accomplish assigned tasks with limited general technical guidance.
- Ability to read and understand engineering prints; to work as part of a team, communicate effectively with workers and alternates.
- Ability to demonstrate adherence to established safety policies and procedures and support the company’s environmental management system.
Work is performed in a remote Arctic environment with limited medical resources. The site is approximately 840 miles from surgical, specialist, and tertiary medical care, and medical evacuation may be significantly delayed due to weather conditions. The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met to perform the essential functions of the job.
- Stand, walk on level, uneven, and slippery surfaces; sit, squat, kneel, crawl, reach through low and high ranges, work overhead; exhibit normal balance and coordination.
- Stand and walk for prolonged periods; drive for prolonged periods in the dark and inclement weather.
- Climb scaffolds, ramps, stairs, equipment, portable ladders, and fixed ladders of 20 feet or greater.
- Wear and utilize fall protection within manufacturer specifications.
- Lift 50 lbs. from floor to waist; lift 50 lbs. from floor to shoulder; carry 50 lbs. for 15 feet.
- Push/pull a 60 lb. sled for 20 feet; push/pull a 90 lb. cart for 20 feet.
