JOB SUMMARY
The General Maintenance Technician performs duties required in support of Maintenance Operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES- Knowledge of various skilled tasks as required for carpentry, bolt‑up and general maintenance activities.
- Knowledge of and ability to perform piping spool/valve installation and removal, rigging, blinding and minor pipe fitting.
- Knowledge of structural and mechanical maintenance operations including the ability to interpret isometric and P&'s.
- Perform manual labor activities, such as hauling, stacking materials, shoveling, and operating hand / power tools.
- Promote safe work practices and adhere to company and client safety policies and procedures for work performed, including proper hazard recognition and mitigation.
- Routinely perform safety and productivity observations; shop, field, and vehicle inspections.
- Ability to participate in the respiratory protection program.
- Ability to work in confined spaces.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and be capable of performing assigned tasks with limited general technical guidance.
- Some scaffold knowledge and experience preferred.
- Some insulation knowledge and experience preferred.
- Other duties will be assigned to this position as needs require.
- Comply with company and customer policies and procedures.
- Support AES zero‑incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience in mechanical piping, carpentry, and general maintenance.
- Scaffold Builder's card required.
- Basic understanding of industrial insulation is required.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Driver license required.
- Petrochemical or oilfield experience preferred.
- Five (5) years' experience in mechanical piping, rigging, and general piping bolt‑up, and good labor skills preferred.
- Asbestos 40‑hour training preferred.

WORKING ON THE NORTH SLOPEWhile working on the North Slope of Alaska, lodging and food will be provided. Camps offer warm meals and options for quick lunches or snacks. Rooms vary from single to shared, and accommodations include Wi‑Fi, housekeeping, self‑serve laundry, commissary, mail, gym, and leisure facilities. Service levels vary by site and will be reviewed during on‑site orientation.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENTThe physical demands and work environment requirements are representative of those necessary to perform the essential functions of this position. A post‑offer, pre‑hire Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) will be conducted to ensure an employee can safely meet job standards.
