The Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation is a Tribal health care organization, serving nearly 30,000 people living across rural, southwest Alaska in villages with populations from about 10 to more than 1,000. Position SummaryPerforms general construction duties as a part of the YKHC construction crew. Lifts/carries materials, nails, screws and performs other duties involving the use of basic hand power tools. Works under the direct supervision of Facility Manager or Facilities Director.
Position Qualifications- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Prior construction and/or laborer experience preferred.
- Drivers License
- Working knowledge of general hand tools and power tools preferred.
- REASONING ABILITY—Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- LANGUAGE SKILLS—Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
