Job Description

Valley Block & Concrete has been a trusted provider of high-quality concrete products in Wasilla, Alaska, since 1990. We are dedicated to serving our community with excellence and reliability, offering a wide range of concrete solutions for construction projects of all sizes.

Our yard and warehouse workers are responsible for providing courteous, professional service to all Customers in an efficient manner. They are also responsible for carefully handling all products to minimize damage and help maintain a neat and organized appearance at Valley Block & Concrete.

Responsibilities would include but not be limited to:

• Courteously and professionally interact with our Customers.
• Be knowledgeable of all materials in the yard, including their location and grades, and proper handling techniques.
• Load our customers promptly and ensure that the correct products are loaded.
• Load our Block Trucks
• Receive and Stock Items in the Yard and our Warehouse
• Keep the Yard and Warehouse Clean
• Work with Precast Block Forms, setup forms, clean and strip forms and assist Drivers in filling forms
• Monitor Cement Bulkers as they are unloaded into our Concrete and Block Plants.
• Other tasks as required.

• Must be at least 18 years of age and have a valid Alaska Drivers License
• High School Diploma, GED Equivalent or passing grade on written reading, writing and math skills test.
• The ability to work in a safety conscious manner at all times.
• The Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow instructions from supervisors and experienced operators.
• Willingness to learn and perform a variety of tasks in a fast-paced production environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects and perform repetitive tasks as needed.
• Safely use all equipment in the yard. We will train
• Safely use forklifts, and meet eligibility for forklift certification. We will train.
• Ability to work outside for extended periods of time.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and overtime, as production demands require.

Employment will be contingent upon submission to and successful completion of a pre-placement drug test as well as pre-placement verification of the information and qualifications provided during the selection process.
