Position Summary

Following upon our roots as a family owned and operated business for the past half century, Paraco is leading the way with numerous initiatives including our state of the art production line in Waterbury, CT.

As a Maintenance Technician II, you will be vital to our production line and facility maintenance in Waterbury and other locations where we have propane tank refurbishment operations. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will work with the other maintenance technicians to ensure safe and reliable operation of the production line and facility operations.

Key responsibilities and essential job functions
  • Through observation of equipment during the day, work with Senior Maintenance Technicians performing light maintenance, supply management, cleaning and special projects with regard to our production line and facilities.
  • Light Maintenance:
    • Greasing and oiling all equipment/conveyors
    • Cleaning internal components of equipment
    • Internal washer cleaning
    • Propane pump system daily maintenance
    • Air compressor daily/weekly/monthly maintenance
    • Wearable part replacement/maintenance
  • Janitorial/Cleaning:
    • Light janitorial work as needed
    • Running floor scrubber
    • Rust removal and painting of equipment as needed
  • Supply Management (supply organization, inventory control, and procurement support)
  • Other duties as assigned by Senior Maintenance Technician, Plant Supervisor or Maintenance Manager.
Desired Skills And Experience
  • Basic troubleshooting, problem solving and diagnostic skills.
  • Experience with hand tools, power tools and test equipment preferred.
  • Read, interpret and record data from meters, gauges, scales, panels, computer consoles and other equipment.
  • Completion of proactive maintenance and assigned tasks and repairs in a timely manner.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent or Vocational Technical Certificate training in at least one of the following:
    Electrical, Mechanical, and/or Plumbing.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 75 pounds at times throughout the day as well as bend, climb, reach, stoop & twist.
  • Detailed work ethic, be enthusiastic, committed, proactive and resourceful; effectively gets the job done.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a positive and thoughtful manner with customers and co-workers.
