Introduction
The Western Connecticut Mental Health Network (WCMHN), under the umbrella of the State of Connecticut, Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) is seeking a qualified individual to join our team in Waterbury as a Maintainer (PCN 86758). First shift, 7:00 a.m.

- Minor building repairs
- Snow removal from front entrances and vehicles, including sanding when necessary
- Maintaining awareness of routine maintenance for state vehicles and transporting them to Fleet
- Monitoring and documenting all preventative safety checks (fire extinguisher, smoke detectors, etc.)
- Ensuring necessary supplies are stocked in all state vehicles
- Cleaning and sanitizing all high‑touch areas across the three Waterbury sites
- Ordering maintenance and custodial supplies for the three Waterbury sites
- Moving furniture and disposing of trash as needed
- Assisting other WCMHN sites as needed
- Maintaining regular communication and collaboration with the landlord regarding building concerns and needs
- Coordinating with outside contractors for facility repairs and extermination services
- A comprehensive medical examination, including a drug screening, will be required of all applicants upon a conditional offer of employment

The State of Connecticut, Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS), is a health care agency whose mission is to promote the overall health and wellness of persons with behavioral health needs through an integrated network of holistic, comprehensive, effective, and efficient services and supports that foster dignity, respect, and self‑sufficiency in those we serve. The Western Connecticut Mental Health Network (WCMHN) was formed in 1996 by the State of Connecticut, Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS), in order to coordinate clinical, fiscal and administrative oversight of Region 5 contracted and state‑operated mental health services.
Within this service system, there are three state‑operated Local Mental Health Authorities, which are located in Waterbury, Danbury, and Torrington. In partnership with the Western Connecticut Mental Health Network they provide and coordinate local clinical services. Over 200 staff—including psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, rehabilitation, vocational and mental health workers—provide services for persons with a long‑term mental illness. The Western Connecticut Mental Health Network’s mission is to provide a comprehensive and effective recovery‑oriented system of mental health and addiction services that promotes self‑sufficiency, dignity, cultural sensitivity, and respect.

- Building and equipment maintenance (operational and remedial)
- Grounds care

- Operation of trucks of less than five (5) ton capacity
- Parking garage
- Keeps simple records and prepares reports (this should be related to duties listed previously and not a full‑time office record‑keeping position)
- Performs related duties as required
- Performs preventive maintenance tasks including but not limited to the following:
- Checks gauges for established settings
- Checks steam trap indicators
- Checks belt tension (blowers, fans and rotating equipment)
- Changes filters (water, gas, HVACR, etc.)
- Inspects doors for damage
- Tightens chairs, tables, desks, door hinges, cabins and lubricates when necessary
- Replaces castors
- Cleans grease traps
- May check temperatures against pre‑established settings
- May clean strainers and boilers
- May replace ceiling tiles and loose floor tiles
- May spot‑patch walls
- May replace washers
- May repair minor leaks in toilets, drinking…
