Job Summary

As a Maintenance Assistant
, you will work under the general direction of the Maintenance Director to ensure the upkeep and maintenance of the facility and grounds. Your role includes performing preventative maintenance, routine inspections, and repairs while ensuring a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for residents and staff.

Pay Rate

Pay Rate: $17-19.00 per hour

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ensuring all aspects of the facility are in a good state of repair.
  • Responding to daily work order requests and addressing maintenance needs promptly.
  • Assisting with routine and emergency maintenance tasks that do not require specialized vendors.
  • Participating in the on-call rotation for emergency maintenance needs as authorized by the Maintenance Director.
  • Performing routine janitorial duties to maintain clean and neat building and grounds.
  • Managing snow removal and landscaping tasks not handled by outside contractors.
  • Conducting routine inspections of the building's interior and exterior.
  • Assisting with mandatory annual facility inspections and completing required documentation.
  • Ensuring the highest quality of customer service is provided to residents.
  • Assisting with ordering maintenance supplies and monitoring inventory levels.
  • Maintaining the dumpster area and monitoring trash pickup schedules.
  • Performing other duties as assigned to support the facility’s maintenance operations.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Excellent communication skills and a compassion for older adults.
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, heating/cooling systems, and general repair skills.
  • Prior maintenance experience (required).
Physical Demands
  • Regularly required to stand, talk, bend, stretch, pull, push, and lift items.
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
