1st Shift Becker Head Custodian​/Engineer

Custodian (8 hrs/day) – [1st Shift Becker]

[8 hours, 6:00am-2:30pm]

Reports To:

Custodial Manager and Building Principal

Primary Function:
To provide a clean, comfortable, safe, and efficient environment to all occupants of the building. Also responsible for performing building mechanical and electrical equipment maintenance to ensure a safe learning and working environment.

Qualifications:

Mobility/Agility

• physical strength and ability to work continuous hours on feet
• ability to frequently lift and carry moderately heavy supplies, equipment, and furniture
• ability to occasionally lift and carry heavy supplies, equipment and furniture
• ability to work outside and inside and in extreme temperatures/humidity
• ability to climb a ladder up to 10 feet in height
• ability to remove snow and ice from walks and to mow lawn
• mobility/agility to perform all phases of custodial work

Organization/Supervision

• good organizational and time management skills
• ability to maintain confidentiality

Interpersonal Skills

• excellent attendance and the ability to work independently are essential traits, required to be successful in this position
• ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with teachers, students, fellow employees, and students
• ability to work effectively with staff, parents, and community members regardless of race, national origin, gender, disability, age, or social economic status
• effective communication skills
• Previous building maintenance experience preferred
• Knowledge of heating, air handling and mechanical equipment
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance procedures
• Working knowledge of plumbing systems
