Overview
Licensed HVAC Technician
Job Description:
The technicians purpose is to use their skills and knowledge to provide exemplary service to all clients that they serve. Technicians also lead the way in sales, operations and technical fluency.
- Disclose any work uncompleted from prior week to Field Coordinator
- Request follow up appointments from Dispatch (DSR) and/or Small Project Liaison (SPL) when necessary
- Address customer complaints or call backs as directed by your Team Lead and/or Field Coordinator
- Be available for after hours services as part of a weekly rotation with other technicians (no more than a minimum of 10 weeks rotation)
- Attend technician training classes during education/training season (Labor Day to Memorial Day) as requested
- Attend 75% or greater of company sponsored events
- Accept feedback from supervisors as part of an ongoing process of learning and becoming better every day
- Report all absences to direct supervisor
- Request approval for overtime hours worked beyond five hours a week
- Ask questions if the expectations for your team leader is not clear enough
- Request, schedule and stand your own inspections with city inspectors
- Work alongside other technicians when requested
- Actively work to attract new employees; encourage employees to aspire for more
- Respond promptly to requests for information from office to aid in accounts receivable and collections processing
- Actively participate in the annual review
- Assist DSR and SPL on quality inspections of their respective team member
- Prepare accurate and timely estimates for clients as needed
- Conduct yourself in a way that will protect the interests and safety of all employees and the company
- Come to work neatly groomed and dressed appropriately for the work you will be doing
- Keep all work areas cleaned. Your vehicle is considered a part of your work area
- Observe all traffic laws and wear a seat belt. Tickets that result from an infraction of traffic laws or parking violations are your own responsibility.
- Promptly report any equipment, vehicles or tools that are damaged, defective, or in need of repair.
- Exemplify being a good steward of the company abiding by all Employee Handbook rules, requirements and policies
- Make calls and/or return calls to customers as needed
- Take pictures of jobs, before and after; and upload to Bergen PHC’s scheduling software
- Perform all work to meet minimum Iowa Plumbing and/or Iowa Mechanical Code requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid Driver’s License and full insurability as a driver meeting insurance carrier’s requirements
- Iowa License in HVAC
