Title:
Maintenance Planner
As a Maintenance Planner for JD Waterloo Works
- Drivetrain Division located in Waterloo, IA, you will:
- Lead the planning, scheduling, and execution of preventive maintenance (PM) activities across the DTO facility to maximize equipment reliability and uptime.
- Develop, maintain, and continuously improve PM plans, procedures, task lists, and frequencies based on equipment performance and maintenance best practices.
- Manage and optimize maintenance spare parts cabinets and inventory to support efficient maintenance execution while minimizing downtime and inventory costs.
- Review maintenance history and work order feedback to identify, implement, and document PM corrections and continuous improvement opportunities.
- Assign, prioritize, and coordinate AGM2, AGM3, and AGM6 work orders to support timely and effective maintenance execution.
- Analyze maintenance performance metrics, including PM compliance, backlog age, schedule attainment, and equipment reliability trends to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Leverage the maintenance supply base to identify, source, and expedite critical repair parts, supporting rapid equipment recovery, machine uptime, and continuous improvement in asset reliability.
- 1 or more years of maintenance planning, maintenance supervision, reliability engineering, or industrial maintenance experience.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Previous experience with SAP
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across maintenance, operations, engineering, and purchasing teams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Power BI, or other data analysis tools to support maintenance performance reporting and decision making.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to coordinate maintenance activities across multiple departments and stakeholders.
- Familiarity with maintenance budgeting, contractor coordination, and procurement processes.
- Experience supporting continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
- Understanding of maintenance and reliability metrics such as PM compliance, schedule attainment, MTBF, MTTR, backlog age, and equipment uptime.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, TPM, or Reliability Excellence principles.
- SAP Plant Maintenance (PM) experience preferred.
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Maintenance Technology, or a related field.
