Maintenance Planner

Location:

Waterloo, IA Duration: 24+ Months (possible extension)

Shift: 1st shift (7 am to 3:30 pm). Periodic off-shift hours may be required as needed depending on projects. OT hours will be possible (either during regular shift or weekend work). Note - Bachelor’s degree from an accredited U.S. university required. Visa sponsorship is not available, now or in the future, for this position Major Purpose The Maintenance Planner is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating corrective and preventive maintenance activities for production equipment, facilities, and supporting infrastructure.

This role works closely with maintenance personnel, operations, engineering, and suppliers to ensure maintenance work is prioritized, properly planned, and executed safely and efficiently. The Maintenance Planner is also responsible for procuring materials and services required to support maintenance activities and improve equipment reliability. Major Duties Plan, schedule, and coordinate preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities for manufacturing equipment and facility assets.

Partner with maintenance, operations, engineering, and other functional groups to support equipment reliability, uptime, and continuous improvement initiatives. Receive and prioritize maintenance work requests based on business impact, safety, production requirements, and resource availability. Develop detailed work plans that include labor requirements, parts, tools, materials, permits, and job instructions needed for successful execution. Identify suppliers, obtain quotations, and create purchase orders for repair parts, spare parts, materials, and maintenance-related services.

Manage maintenance inventory by monitoring crib and self-help stock levels, tracking usage, and supporting cost reduction initiatives. Coordinate the development, review, and continuous improvement of preventive maintenance programs to improve equipment performance and reliability. Maintain accurate maintenance records, equipment data, and planning documentation within the maintenance management system. Ensure maintenance activities support and comply with applicable safety, environmental, OSHA, and ANSI requirements.

Support maintenance-related projects, shutdown planning, as required.
