this job involves:

The Assistant Maintenance Manager leverages leadership skills and technical knowledge to lead a team of maintenance mechanics, work in conjunction with robotics and controls system technicians, and maintain a safe working environment.

  • Model safety standards and maintain an environment focused on safety.
  • Lead, train, and support maintenance team members to develop individual skills and expand team capabilities.
  • Develop solutions to difficult problems, manage outside contractors, and be on‑call for emergencies.
  • Support multi‑site production safely and customer‑focused.
  • Display energetic, self‑motivated, and customer‑centric behaviors consistently.
  • Handle multiple projects and daily activities, meeting deadlines and planning to accomplish departmental goals.
  • Provide complete oversight of preventive maintenance and serve as the client point of contact during shifts.
  • Demonstrate flexibility to work various shifts and alternative schedules.
  • Move extensively throughout the facility to attend to equipment and team members as needed.
Essential functions:
  • Partner with on‑site Environmental Health and Safety to ensure all safety standards are met.
  • Meet operational KPIs, including labor tracking.
  • Own scheduling and track completion of tickets.
  • Oversee building cleanliness.
  • Ensure accurate inventory tracking.
  • Perform daily and weekly audits for cleanliness and work orders.
  • Implement preventive, predictive, and condition‑based maintenance programs.
  • Maintain client‑centric relationships with operational stakeholders.
  • Participate in budget development and tracking.
  • Assist in project planning and cost analysis.
  • Provide thorough feedback to enhance performance, including written appraisals and discipline up to termination.
  • Promote and conduct good housekeeping.
  • Travel as required to support network needs.
Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior leadership experience.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts and alternative schedules.
  • Experience performing maintenance on industrial machinery, electrical systems, and electronic controls.
  • Must be authorized to work within the United States without sponsoring.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience managing budgets and vendors.
  • Knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Experience in project management.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and electrical schematics.
Physical Demands:
  • Stand for prolonged periods and walk extensively during shifts.
  • Perform repetitive bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching, twisting, sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Lift parts and tools weighing on average 20 pounds, occasionally up to 49 pounds.
  • Demonstrate eye‑hand coordination and wrist motion for repetitive tasks.
  • Work conditions may include elevated heights, small spaces, dust, fumes, hot/cold temperatures, noise, vibration, and uneven surfaces.
