This position maintains and issues the Department’s inventory of necessary parts, supplies, equipment and tools, researches replacement parts and picks up and delivers parts.
Schedule:
7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, occasional nights and weekends required

Graduation from high school plus elementary technical training and 1 – 3 years of experience in inventory control; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the following knowledge, ability and skills:
Knowledge of
- Supplies, tools and materials used in the public works department.
- Inventory stock control.
- Standard office procedures.
- The use of standard office equipment including computers and relevant software.
- Occupational hazards and the practices and techniques used to avoid or minimize risks.
- Must be familiar and capable of using Word and excel daily.
Ability to
- Keep accurate records and make reports.
- Understand and carry out instructions.
- Work independently with minimal supervision.
- Multitask and prioritize workload.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, coworkers, vendors and suppliers.
Skill in
- Organization and record-keeping.
- Oral and written communications.
- Snow removal operations.
Necessary Special Requirements
CDL with A, B and C endorsements, N preferred but not required; valid Wisconsin driver’s license; ability to complete a pre-employment post offer physical including drug test upon hire, and random drug and alcohol tests thereafter.

- Work is performed mostly indoors; hand-eye coordination is necessary to operate computers and various tools and pieces of office equipment.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, prolonged visual concentration and the ability to adjust focus.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, talk and hear; use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms.
- The employee is occasionally required to bend, climb, balance, stoop or kneel.
- The employee may occasionally be exposed to unpleasant conditions such as dim or bright lights, dust, odors, noise, vibrations, toxic agents and electrical currents.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and sometimes in excess of 50 pounds.
