Position Summary
As a Maintenance Supervisor, you will provide leadership to the Maintenance Department in establishing, organizing, planning, and implementing maintenance programs to support operation across all three shifts. You will collaborate with all plant departments to align duties with the company’s goals and values.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure the department is properly trained to work safely and drive improvements to eliminate safety risks across the factory.
- Ensure maintenance supports production of high‑quality food products, and leverage team members to propose and execute work that assures compliance with specifications and increases consumer satisfaction.
- Understand, enforce, and comply with the site’s Environmental Policy and support initiatives to reduce environmental footprint.
- Own Maintenance programs such as Preventive Maintenance, Corrective Maintenance, Continuous Improvement, Predictive Maintenance, Equipment Overhauls, and Equipment Upgrades. Supervise, develop, train, and certify the site maintenance team.
- Coach and mentor Maintenance Planners and Leads to conduct deep dives into breakdown elimination, support preventive maintenance planning, monitor PM compliance goals, and prioritize work for execution with a focus on food safety and human safety.
- Monitor cash flow per budget (MRO and labor), propose capital projects, manage stockroom costs, and ensure critical spare parts and materials are available as needed.
- Provide cross‑functional support with the Engineering Department for capital projects at the site, including cost justification, design feedback, project implementation, and local labor support.
- Support and propose new initiatives to reduce utility costs through improved efficiency and procurement practices.
- Pursue new technologies to improve operations on processing lines, packaging lines, and utilities equipment.
- Follow up with facility team leaders on continuous cost reduction/process improvement ideas and perform other responsibilities as needed.
- Manage conservation systems (alarms, security, sprinklers, fire brigade, etc.).
- Maintain compliance with all federal, state, local, and company regulatory guidelines, PSM guidelines, and be a key member of a HAZMAT team.
- Ensure mechanics and maintenance leads have the necessary tools, training, and support to perform their duties.
- A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- A major in Engineering is preferred.
- 3+ years of maintenance supervisor experience is required.
- Food industry experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of Packaging Lines and Dryers is preferred.
- Intermediate computer skills using Microsoft Office, SAP, and AutoCAD to present all documents related to projects.
