Maintenance Technician

The Fleet Technician I – Fabrication works under supervision and is responsible for the manufacturing of all Mobile Storage rental fleet equipment, including containers, ground‑level offices, office trailers, and other custom projects. The role includes performing all cleaning and maintenance tasks in a safe manner, in accordance with company standards, and is also expected to effectively perform the duties of an Equipment Associate.

• Equipment Manufacturing (rental and sale fleet, steps, and related equipment)
• Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of Mobile Storage quality standards
• Perform basic manufacturing tasks, including framing, paneling, trim, final prep, door/window installation, removal/install of UR decals and equipment numbers, and cleaning final product before shipment
• Complete assignments on time and within budget, and as documented on the work order
• Execute equipment modifications in accordance with manufacturer specifications and state and local building codes
• Follow Mobile Storage and United Rentals 5S guidelines
• Store tools, supplies, and Value Added Products (VAPs) in a proper and secure location
• Keep the yard organized and free of debris
• Conduct inbound and outbound equipment inspections and processing; follow Rental Flow procedures
• Operate a forklift
• Show and exhibit the fleet to customers when needed
• Safely install and/or uninstall VAPs according to reservation requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Active, applicable state‑class driver’s license
• Entry‑level position; related maintenance experience is a plus
• Construction knowledge and background
• Demonstrated time management skills
• Ability to utilize required information technology
• Working knowledge of heavy equipment, tools, and manufacturers’ warranty process
• Exposure to bright light, extreme temperatures, loud noise, dust, or fumes
