Maintenance Technician

With supervision, the Fleet Technician I – Fabrication is responsible for the manufacturing of all Mobile Storage rental fleet equipment, including containers, ground‑level offices, office trailers, and other custom projects. The Fleet Technician I must perform all cleaning and maintenance tasks safely in accordance with company standards and is expected to perform all duties of an Equipment Associate.

• Equipment manufacturing (rental and sale fleet, steps, and related equipment)
• Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of Mobile Storage quality standards
• Perform basic manufacturing tasks, including framing, paneling, trim, final prep, door/window installation, removal/install of UR decals and equipment numbers, and cleaning before shipment
• Complete assignments on time and within budget, as documented on the work order
• Ensure equipment modifications meet manufacturer specifications and state/local building codes
• Follow Mobile Storage and United Rentals 5S guidelines
• Store tools, supplies, and VAPs in a secure place
• Keep the yard organized and free of debris
• Handle inbound and outbound equipment inspections and processing following Rental Flow procedures
• Operate forklift as required
• Show and exhibit the fleet to customers when needed
• Safely install and/or uninstall VAPs according to reservation requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Active, applicable state‑class driver’s license
• Entry‑level position; related maintenance experience is a plus
• Construction knowledge and background
• Demonstrated time‑management skills
• Ability to utilize required information technology
• Working knowledge of heavy equipment, tools, and manufacturers’ warranty process
• Exposure to bright light, extreme temperatures, loud noise, dust, or fumes
