The Golf Course Equipment Manager is a vital member of the Grounds Department at Waynesville Inn & Golf Club, responsible for the preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of all golf course equipment and related assets. Reporting directly to the Golf Course Superintendent, this position plays a critical role in ensuring all equipment meets the highest standards of safety, reliability, and performance—supporting exceptional course conditions and an outstanding guest experience.

This role leads the planning and execution of a comprehensive preventative maintenance program, including routine inspections, repairs, parts inventory management, and detailed record‑keeping for labor and service schedules. The Equipment Manager communicates maintenance priorities and operational needs clearly with department leadership. Maintaining a clean, organized, and safety‑focused maintenance facility is essential to success in this position.

The ideal candidate is a detail‑oriented professional with strong mechanical expertise, sound organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic resort environment. This role requires accountability, professionalism, and collaboration, as equipment performance directly impacts playing conditions, operational efficiency, and the overall experience of our members and guests. Bilingual communication skills, including Spanish, are preferred but not required.

Qualifications
  • Experience in MAINTENANCE, diagnostics, and repair of turf equipment.
  • Experience in cutting unit set‑up, ideally with Foley reel and bed knife grinders.
  • Ability to read and follow manuals, understand preventive maintenance requirements and schedules, and repair equipment.
  • Know and have the ability to utilize various trade tools and the safety guidelines of their use.
  • Familiarity with managing a budget.
  • Ability to utilize computer software systems such as a purchase order system, Excel, Word, and PM Software.
  • Ability to understand how job performance affects the playing conditions of the golf course.
