Summary of Position

The Make Ready Technician is responsible for turning units and getting them ready for new move-ins. Assists other maintenance staff with maintaining the grounds of the property.

Essential Job Functions
  • Complete make-ready process of vacant apartment units as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor. Make-ready would include cleaning the unit, painting, replacing broken items, etc.
  • Communicate with the Maintenance Supervisor daily and accurately record the status of make ready units, assignments, etc.
  • Ensure the inventory of adequate parts and supplies are in stock and organized. Use supplies within a cost-efficient manner without jeopardizing quality.
  • Complete grounds work as directed by Maintenance Supervisor which includes picking up trash, sweeping/blowing off the curbs and dumpster areas.
  • Gather all trash from compactors and prepare the trash dumpsters for pickup and emptying.
  • Clean pet stations and empty property trash cans.
  • Responsible for the completion of maintenance service requests as assigned.
  • Take accountability for the community’s appearance and overall satisfaction of the residents.
  • Responsible for alerting the Community Manager and Maintenance Supervisor of any unusual occurrence and/or damage that have taken place or that may occur.
  • Maintain a professional courteous manner with all residents, vendors, contractors, and fellow employees.
  • Assure safety standards are used which comply with all company, local, city, state and federal guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance of all work-related activities in a fair, ethical and consistent manner.
  • Special projects and other responsibilities as may be determined.
Required Skills / Abilities
  • Superior organization and communication skills.
  • Ability to provide courteous and professional service to residents, property managers, supervisors, vendors and other service providers.
  • Must be honest in time reporting. Reliable and on-time to work.
  • Valid driver's license may be required.
Education and Experience
  • Educational degree not required.
  • At least one year of experience preferred.
  • Specialized training:
    Multi-family property management experience is preferred.
