A strong understanding of gasoline and diesel engines, electrical systems, hydraulics, and hydrostatic drive systems is essential. The position supports the grooming operations vital to Mission Ridge’s ski product and requires a hands‑on, safety‑conscious, and collaborative individual.

Key Responsibilities
  • Equipment maintenance:
Perform regular maintenance on all Mission Ridge operational vehicles and machinery.
  • Department collaboration:
Work with all mountain departments to ensure equipment readiness.
  • Troubleshooting and diagnostics:

Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems using hand, power, and specialized tools.
  • Fabrication:
Basic metalworking and fabrication skills are helpful for in‑house repairs.
  • Guest interaction:
Must maintain a friendly attitude and assist with occasional minor guest vehicle issues.
  • Communication:
Strong communication skills are required for working closely with grooming staff and equipment operators.

This position involves frequent use of hands and fingers to handle tools and machine controls. Candidates must be able to lift or move objects weighing 100 pounds or more safely. Good vision—including color recognition, peripheral vision, and depth perception—is essential for diagnosing and completing mechanical tasks. The role requires solving practical problems in a hands‑on setting and occasionally working in uncomfortable conditions such as dark, cold, snowy, muddy, hot, dusty, or greasy environments.

Vehicle Mechanics work near moving mechanical equipment and on uneven or slippery surfaces, which may present challenging footing. The work environment frequently includes exposure to airborne particles, loud noise, outdoor weather conditions, and potentially hazardous chemicals.
