Cleaning Services, Hotel Housekeeping
Temporary/Fill-In Position.
Responsibilities- Maintain all public and common areas throughout the day, including lobby, restrooms, drinking fountains, and floors.
- Maintain the cleanliness of resident rooms and bathrooms.
- Maintain handrails to ensure they are clean and free of debris.
- Clean and remove dust, dirt, or food off walls, mirrors, windows, light fixtures, towel bars, and towel dispensers.
- Empty trash cans and replace liners.
- Sweep and mop floors.
- Utilize proper safety measures when cleaning, including the use of caution signage and keeping supplies and chemicals out of reach of residents.
- Use supplies and equipment in a safe manner by following user manual instructions.
- Maintain housekeeping carts, equipment, and storage areas in a safe, sanitary, clean, and orderly manner.
- Notify the Director of Housekeeping, Administrator, or Director of Nursing immediately regarding resident safety issues or concerns.
- Notify the Director of Housekeeping when supplies need replenishment.
- Demonstrate excellent customer skills and a positive attitude.
- Demonstrate excellent time management skills.
- Ability to work independently or with a team.
This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.
QualificationsEducation and/or Experience – Minimum requirement to perform the essential functions of this position is a High School Diploma or a GED. Experience working in a long‑term care facility preferred.
Language Skills – Ability to read and understand procedure and instruction manuals and directions.
Mathematical Skills – Basic math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Reasoning Ability – Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists; ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations – Fluent in written and spoken English.
Physical DemandsThe employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee is regularly required to sit, kneel, stand, walk, talk, read, and hear. Some use of office equipment such as copier, scanner, fax, telephone, and calculator is required. Daily use of housekeeping supplies and equipment.
