Hours:

1st shift (6:00am - 2:30pm).

• Routine cleaning to provide a clean environment, ensuring the cleanliness of patient rooms, public areas, lounges, restrooms and other assigned areas to maintain department and clinic standards.
• Clean rooms and offices, empty trash and linen receptacles, vacuum, dust, sanitize, spot clean, check and fill all dispensers, and clean restrooms.
• Dry mop floors, sanitize floors, and perform light cleaning duties to maintain the hospital in a clean and orderly manner.
• Makes beds, replenishes linens, cleans rooms and halls, and vacuums.
• May perform the destruction of discarded patient health information.
• Clean and polish furniture and fixtures, sweep, mop, scrub, or vacuum building floors, and clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using soapy water or other cleaners, microfiber rags, and squeegees.
• Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
• Gather and empty trash and recycling, and notify managers regarding the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
• Service, clean, and supply restrooms, and extract or shampoo carpets.
• Routine clean patient rooms, offices, public areas, procedure rooms and ancillary areas using the 8‑step method.

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
• Preferred:
  Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience.
• Knowledge of English language structure, composition, and grammar.
• Knowledge of curriculum and training design, teaching, instruction for individuals and groups, and measurement of training effects.
• Knowledge of chemical composition, structure, properties of substances, and chemical processes, including uses of chemicals, interactions, danger signs, production techniques, and disposal methods.
• Ability to manage one's own time and the time of others.
• Communication skills: conveying information effectively, listening, asking relevant questions, and showing respect for others’ viewpoints.
• Physical abilities: bending, stretching, twisting, reaching with arms and/or legs; seeing fine details at close range; hearing and interpreting spoken information.
