Facilities Maintenance Worker

The Forest Preserve District of DuPage County is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Worker to join our Field Operations Facilities team located in West Chicago, IL. This role is a great opportunity to join a skilled, supportive team dedicated to high-quality work and the larger mission of the forest preserve. The position will perform maintenance duties of structural assets and assist tradespersons performing mechanical and non-mechanical trade-related work within the district preserves.

$27.56 to $30.46 per hour, depending on experience. This position is governed by a Collective Bargaining agreement. For more information on the agreement please see the Transparency Portal.

We are looking for a team-player with 1-3 years of experience in maintenance activities, particularly residential and commercial painting. Soft carpentry skills and experience with workorder systems are preferred. This position works in a variety of different settings and will require OSHA training and travel throughout the district.

Schedule is Monday - Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm

• Must be 18 years of age or older at the time of hire.
• 1-3 years of related experience in maintenance duties, particularly commercial and residential painting.
• Valid Driver's License in good standing;
  Class C Driver's License required within (6) months in good standing.
• Must pass a medical evaluation and fit test, per OSHA regulations, to ensure a respirator can be safely worn when required.
• OSHA 10-hour 1926 training and confined spaces training within (6) months of employment.
