This position is responsible for all distributions, building supplies and equipment. This individual must be highly organized and maintain a preventive maintenance schedule for the janitorial staff, JJE grounds maintenance team, and distribution centers material handling and shipping equipment. This individual is responsible for working on several projects that upkeep of all equipment and tools. Technicians will be crossed trained between product lines and must follow all operator instructions along with strict adherence to the Quality System and manufacturing specifications.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Install, repair, and maintain distribution equipment to ensure proper operation and optimum performance and runtime. Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance on motors, pneumatic tools, and production machines.
- Plans, coordinates, and directs distribution equipment improvements, moderate installations, and outsourced routine maintenance if needed.
- Monitors, maintains, and repairs machinery, distribution equipment, and other tools needed to sustain productivity.
- Manages equipment performance and recommends new equipment and preventative techniques to improve reliability.
- Investigates breakdowns related to maintenance and system failures and creates solutions to improve efficiency.
- Prepares for process changes and determines their impact on the processes and equipment needed.
- Responsible for the development and maintaining of robust PM processes and tracking method.
- Participates and leads meetings and trains as needed.
- Should be comfortable with working on cross-functional teams.
- Follow diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, and engineering specifications, troubleshoot equipment malfunctions.
- Provides performance/mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Must be able to work in high areas to repair lighting and adjust pallet racking.
- All other duties as assigned.
- 3 to 5 years of related experience in a mechanical field
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees of the department.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Ability to learn various Ranpack packaging equipment PM & maintenance needs.
- Must have electric forklift experience or willing to obtain a license within 3 months of employment.
- Must be able to PM dock doors and trailer restraint systems.
Expect to work within a climate control facility with mid to high noise levels. Working conditions and hours may vary based on production and business needs, including working regular shifts as outlined and/or occasional weekends, or overtime, if needed.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Team members are constantly standing, walking, carrying, climbing, pulling/pushing, bending, seeing, kneeling, stooping, reaching, hearing, as well as handing paperwork. Team members will be lifting/maneuvering objects weighing 50 lbs. or less regularly. Cleaning material and chemicals are used regularly.
