Janitor

This role provides full janitorial support across a large corporate campus, ensuring that offices, common areas, laboratories, conference rooms, and other shared spaces remain clean, safe, and welcoming. You will perform a wide range of cleaning and sanitizing tasks, work on your feet throughout the shift, and contribute to a positive experience for everyone using the facility.

• Perform daily janitorial duties throughout the facility, including offices, bathrooms, lobbies, labs, and conference rooms.
• Clean office spaces and cubicles, ensuring desks, workstations, and surrounding areas are neat and presentable.
• Sweep, mop, dust, and vacuum floors and surfaces in common areas and work spaces.
• Spray and wash tables, counters, and other high-touch surfaces to maintain cleanliness and sanitation.
• Clean and restock restrooms, including replenishing supplies and ensuring fixtures and surfaces are sanitized.
• Wipe handles, counters, and other frequently touched areas to reduce germs and maintain a hygienic environment.
• Remove trash from offices, restrooms, and common areas, and transport it to designated disposal locations.
• Wash interior windows and glass surfaces to maintain a clear and professional appearance.
• Follow established cleaning and sanitizing procedures to meet facility standards and safety guidelines.
• Provide courteous and professional customer service to building occupants and visitors as needed.
• Maintain consistent attendance and arrive on time for scheduled shifts.
• Work independently, managing assigned areas and tasks with minimal supervision.
• Use provided protective equipment such as safety glasses and gloves when required.

• At least 1 year of previous experience in cleaning, janitorial, custodial, sanitizing, housekeeping, or related work.
• Demonstrated janitorial and custodial skills, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and trash removal.
• Experience with cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, offices, and common areas.
• Ability to work on your feet for the entire shift and walk extensively across a large campus.
• Capacity to work independently and take ownership of assigned areas and tasks.
• Friendly and approachable demeanor with the ability to interact professionally with people in a 24-hour site environment.
• Attention to detail in following cleaning procedures and maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
• Basic understanding of environmental service and general labor tasks related to facility upkeep.

• Experience in housekeeping or environmental services in office, lab, or production settings.
• Experience working in large facilities or campuses with multiple buildings and high foot traffic.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and multiple areas to maintain.
• Strong time management skills to complete daily cleaning schedules efficiently.
• Reliability and strong attendance record in previous roles.

This position is based on a large corporate campus with multiple buildings, requiring extensive walking and working on your feet throughout the shift. You will perform cleaning duties in offices, bathrooms, lobbies, labs, and conference rooms. Standard schedules are available on both first and second shift: 1st shift runs from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 2nd shift runs from 1:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

The dress code is casual and practical, with work-appropriate jeans and a shirt required. Safety glasses and gloves are supplied as needed to support safe and effective cleaning work.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of West Des Moines, IA.

The pay range for this position is $16.50 - $16.50/hr individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
