Maintenance Assistant

Assist the Plant Maintenance Coordinator on a daily basis. Primary duties and responsibilities include the following: maintaining and cleaning facilities, equipment, and the environment; maintaining an up-to-date inventory of equipment, tools, and parts; cleaning and organizing the shop area; diagnosing and troubleshooting maintenance issues; communicating with supervisors on the maintenance status of equipment and facilities; managing the routine upkeep of outdoor areas, building exteriors, and parking lot;

and able to operate a skid steer and/or payloader for snow removal during winter months.

Skills and qualifications: good written and verbal communication skills; ability to work in a team; good organizational skills and keen attention to detail; ability to maintain the confidentiality and privacy of the building's occupants; ability to interpret maintenance instructions, manuals, safety rules, and other documents; general maintenance experience to perform the duties and responsibilities of the role; at least one (1) year experience as a Maintenance Assistant or in a similar role;

familiar with sourcing parts and services for repair and maintenance work; experience with mechanical, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, electrical, and plumbing systems is a plus for candidates but not a requirement; valid driver's license and be able to be insured with our insurance company; must have a good attendance record.
