Terminal Operator

Responsibilities

• Unload grain and grain by-products from trucks.
• Opening gates and doors on trucks.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment and facility.
• Must be able to distinguish different products and report any abnormities to supervisor.
• Be able to work a combination of 8, 10, & 12 hour shifts consisting of days, nights & weekends.
• Work is physically demanding, dirty and exposed to outside elements.
• Follow instructions of Superintendent, Assistant or Lead.
• Follow all LDC safety rules and procedures.
• Must have adequate knowledge of all SHE policies.
• Responsible for a clean work area, clean facility and general maintenance (housekeeping).
• Must wear all required PPE for the jobs being performed.
• Assist in all areas of the facility as needed.
• Must be able to perform all barge/deck hand duties in a safe manner.

• Knowledgeable and experienced in the use of hand tools, power tools, chain falls, com-a-longs, grinders, drill presses, table saws, etc…
• Must have ability to work from ladders and scaffolds at heights above 6’.
• Be able to lift and carry a minimum of 75 lbs.
• Must be able to work in dusty conditions.
• Must be able to work frequently in inclement weather.
• Must be aware and attentive to surroundings which may include automatic starting conveyors belts and other moving machinery.
• Must be able to climb, bend, kneel, squat, and crawl occasionally and stand and walk frequently.
• Must have ability to operate computer control equipment.
