Assistant Manager Commercial Janitorial (Operations) – West Palm Beach, FL, United States of America

Responsibilities
  • Report to the Area Manager, obtain job assignments for every evening, and report any issues from the previous work night.
  • Perform daily routine inspections and ensure immediate corrections, maintaining the highest level of quality across all accounts.
  • Provide initial and on-site training to cleaning specialists; after successful training, assign specific duties based on site requirements.
  • Work side by side with cleaning specialists when required.
  • Cover for cleaning specialists when absent.
  • Deliver supplies to accounts when needed.
  • Check cleaning equipment and supplies during account inspections.
  • Ensure service completion in each account under supervision.
  • Provide written reports and recommendations to Area Managers on issues such as workmanship, attendance, and appearance.
  • Communicate professionally and provide detailed information, responding promptly to problems or suggestions.
  • Improve service quality by hiring, training, cross-training, developing, and directing cleaning specialists.
  • Ensure compliance with contract specifications.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies for each account.
  • Assist Area Manager with equipment maintenance and budget management.
  • Coordinate special projects with the Area Manager.
  • Ensure all employees complete orientation and training prior to starting work.
  • Assist the Area Manager in hiring, terminating, and transferring employees; complete required paperwork timely.
  • Respond immediately to company or employer requests.
  • Collaborate with HR regarding employee issues or problems.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by promoting safe practices and conducting safety meetings with documented attendance.
  • Ensure employees wear uniforms and identifications, and use safety gear when required.
  • Inspect equipment and ensure it is in good condition; keep janitor closets neat and organized; ensure chemical bottles are properly labeled.
  • Coordinate with risk management on safety issues or incidents.
  • Prepare accounts for inspections in advance and keep management informed.
  • Support the Total Cleaning management team and perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least 2 years of janitorial supervision experience.
  • bilingual skills in English/Spanish a plus.
  • Available nights, days, and weekends; open availability. This position requires on-call status.
  • Computer skills a plus.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate with different levels of internal and external customers.
