This role is essential to maintaining the safety, cleanliness, and functionality of the Keiser University Equestrian Center, including the barn, arenas, pastures, and common areas.

  • Adaptability to handle a variety of tasks and changing weather conditions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The Equestrian Maintenance Worker/Ground keeper performs the following essential functions:

  • Grounds Maintenance:
    • Mow lawns, trim hedges, and maintain landscaping around barns and arenas.
    • Maintain and repair fencing, gates, and pasture infrastructure.
    • Clear debris, landscaping, and weeds from the grounds as needed.
  • Facility Maintenance:
    • Perform routine inspections and repairs on barns, stalls, tack rooms, and storage areas.
    • Maintain plumbing, electrical, and lighting systems as needed.
    • Assist with arena maintenance including dragging, watering, and footing upkeep.
  • Equipment Operation & Maintenance:
    • Operate tractors, mowers, weed trimmers, and other groundskeeping equipment.
    • Perform basic maintenance and repairs on facility equipment and tools.
  • Support Barn Operations:
    • Assist with unloading hay, feed, and bedding deliveries.
    • Help with stall cleaning and manure management when needed.
    • Support event setup and breakdown for shows or clinics.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in groundskeeping, maintenance, or farm work.
  • Familiarity with equestrian facilities and horse safety is a plus.
  • Ability to operate and maintain landscaping and farm equipment.
  • Strong physical stamina and ability to work in various weather conditions.
  • Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
