Position

Summary

The Business Development Coordinator provides day-to-day support to the sales and engineering teams with proposal generation, customer communication, and CRM management. This role is ideal for someone detail-oriented who enjoys multitasking and wants exposure to both the technical and business sides of an engineering firm.

  • Prepare, format, and coordinate technical proposals, quotes, and supporting documents
  • Work with process, controls, and OT/ICS cybersecurity engineers to gather scope, hours, and material inputs
  • Track bid deadlines, submissions, and follow-ups
  • Maintain accurate Salesforce CRM opportunity records
  • Assist with customer outreach, scheduling, and follow-up communications
  • Support marketing initiatives including Linked In posts, brochures, website updates, and trade show logistics
  • Maintain proposal templates, internal libraries, rate sheets, and contact lists
  • Provide administrative support for business development activities, meetings, and expense tracking
  • Coordinate with subcontractors (electrical and telecommunications) to support budget development
  • Learn fundamentals of industrial automation and manufacturing systems (PLC, HMI, SCADA, VFDs, instrumentation)
  • Support continuous improvement efforts to streamline internal BD and proposal processes
  • Interact professionally with customers and help manage expectations
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred (business, communications, or technical discipline)
  • Strong written communication and organizational skills
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat/Express
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to learn new tools, systems, and technical concepts
  • Basic familiarity with CRM systems or databases preferred
Preferred Qualifications
  • 0–3 years of experience in sales support, business development, marketing coordination, or project administration
  • Exposure to engineering, construction, manufacturing, or industrial services environments
  • Familiarity with Salesforce or similar CRM platforms (training provided)
  • Experience supporting proposals, customer-facing documents, or presentations
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through
  • Professional, customer-focused communication style
  • Interest in industrial automation, manufacturing, or engineering-driven businesses
  • Self-motivated, organized, and eager to grow within a collaborative team

The nature of this job requires both office time and on-site time at a customer facility. Work during office time takes place in a clean, pleasant and comfortable office setting. Work during on-site time employees could encounter cold, hot, humid, noisy conditions. This position will require a minimum of 15% travel time.
