The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist
- Construction supports the implementation of health, manufacturing, and construction safety policies. They support the EHS Manager
- Construction in assuring local, state and federal safety regulations are adhered to CP and sub-contractor personnel and facilitate the creation and operation of various construction safety programs. The EHS Specialist will focus on behavior-based safety and audit strategies to create a system that not only increases employee and management buy-in of plant safety, but also increases productivity and efficiency.
At Clark Pacific, the Field Safety Engineer supports the successful execution of construction projects by implementing Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies and procedures in partnership with the EHS Manager. Working in an autonomous, field-based role, this position provides jobsite observations, identifies hazards, and collaborates with project teams and subcontractors to reduce risk and strengthen Clark Pacific's safety culture. This role plays a key part in driving continuous improvement across safety performance, policies, and practices.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Exercise a high level of professionalism and confidentiality when working with staff, projects, and proprietary information.
- Assist the EHS Manager – Construction in developing, communicating, and implementing Clark Pacific's safety vision, strategies, policies, and procedures.
- Observe and analyze jobsites and project plans to anticipate hazards and recommend proactive safety solutions.
- Initiate, support, and maintain documentation for Site Specific Safety Plans (SSSPs) and other project safety programs.
- Coordinate and deliver safety training to management, field staff, preconstruction, and project teams as required.
- Engage consistently with Clark Pacific field teams and subcontractors to promote an interactive and collaborative safety culture.
- Advise and consult with superintendents and project managers on safety concerns, corrective actions, and best practices.
- Plan and execute safety initiatives based on leading indicators and jobsite observations.
- Evaluate safety performance using leading and lagging data and communicate findings to leadership.
- Lead or support jobsite incident investigations and corrective action tracking.
- Conduct and oversee safety inspections and hazard assessments to identify trends and prevention opportunities.
- Inspect active jobsites to ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and insurance standards.

Skills and Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of OSHA standards and construction safety programs.

- Comfortable escalating issues while maintaining positive working relationships.
- Ability to exercise discretion when handling confidential or sensitive information.

Experience and
Education:
- Associate degree preferred.
- 1 to 5 years of experience in safety and compliance within commercial construction or manufacturing required.
- OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 certification preferred.
