At Clark Pacific, Field Safety Engineer plays a critical role in implementing Clark Pacific's Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies and procedures across construction project sites. Working within the Environmental, Health & Safety team, this autonomous role partners with project teams, subcontractors, and leadership to develop and implement proactive safety strategies that reduce risk, strengthen safety culture, and drive continuous improvement.
Field Safety Engineer provides leadership through coaching, observation, training, and compliance oversight while ensuring projects meet regulatory requirements and Clark Pacific safety standards.

- Exercise a high level of professionalism and confidentiality when working with staff, projects, and proprietary information.
- Assist the EHS Manager–Construction in the development and implementation of Clark Pacific's safety vision, philosophy, objectives, strategies, policies, and procedures to build a safety culture dedicated to behaviors that lead to industry-leading results.
- Observe and analyze jobsites and project plans to anticipate problems, provide recommendations, and implement approved solutions.
- Initiate, lead, and manage documentation and support development of the Site-Specific Safety Plan (SSSP) and other key project programs.
- Coordinate and perform safety training for management, field staff, preconstruction teams, and project teams.
- Routinely interact with internal stakeholders, clients, subcontractors, and inspectors to build a strong safety culture.
- Engage regularly with Clark Pacific field workers, project teams, and subcontractors to build positive working relationships.
- Advise, educate, consult, recommend, and propose safety solutions to field superintendents and project managers.
- Proactively plan and execute safety solutions and strategies based on leading indicators.
- Provide routine safety performance evaluations utilizing analytical data sourced from both leading and lagging indicators.
- Integrate field safety principles including risk-based critical thinking, behavioral safety, cultural safety, situational safety, and regulatory compliance.
- Identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative safety solutions, monitor results, and implement corrective actions.
- Oversee project site incident investigations.
- Manage hazard assessment activities and conduct safety inspections while analyzing inspection and incident data to identify preventive and corrective opportunities.
- Inspect active project sites and evaluate ongoing work conditions to ensure employee safety and compliance with established safety standards.
- Conduct onsite facility observations and inspections to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, insurance requirements, and Clark Pacific safety policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Associate's degree is preferred.
- One to five years of experience in Safety and Compliance within a heavy construction and/or manufacturing environment is required.
- OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 certifications are preferred.
- Valid CA State Driver's Licence is required.
- Thorough knowledge of OSHA standards.
- Familiarity with the development, implementation, and maintenance of comprehensive Safety Standards and Programs for construction jobsites.
- Strong observation skills with attention to environmental details.
- Proven leadership using a coaching and mentoring style rather than a directive-based approach.
