We are seeking a highly motivated and technically proficient Portfolio Manager to support and lead solid waste engineering projects and pursuits across California and the western U.S. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior‑level professional with a strong background in civil or solid waste engineering and a passion for delivering high‑quality solutions in the landfill and environmental infrastructure space.

Responsibilities Project Management & Technical Execution
  • Manage and execute engineering projects related to solid waste facility expansions and closures, infrastructure improvements, and environmental compliance reporting directly to the Principal Engineer.
  • Lead multi‑discipline teams.
  • Oversee field activities including construction quality assurance (CQA) and site observations during landfill construction and closure projects.
Client Interaction & Team Collaboration
  • Coordinate with clients, regulatory agencies, and internal teams to ensure project goals, budgets, and timelines are met.
  • Develop client relationships.
  • Provide business development support: pursuit tracking, proposal development, and contribute to business development through technical expertise and client engagement.
Solid Waste Services Portfolio Development
  • Expand solid waste engineering capabilities focusing on master planning, design, and environmental compliance.
  • Facilitate growth by supporting strategic talent acquisition and mentorship of junior staff.
Qualifications
  • Education & Licensure:
    Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
  • California PE license required; CE licenses in Oregon and Washington desirable.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in civil and environmental engineering with a focus on landfill projects.
  • Proven experience in landfill expansions and closures.
  • Demonstrated project management and client coordination skills.
