Overview

As a Commercial Solar Business Development Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving the growth of our commercial solar business. Focused on establishing and nurturing partnerships with general contractors and industry stakeholders, you will be responsible for achieving annual sales goals ranging from $3-5 million. Your primary objective will be to identify, develop, and close new commercial solar projects while ensuring customer satisfaction.

This role involves a combination of strategic planning, relationship management, and sales expertise.

Responsibilities
  • Business Development:
    Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the commercial solar sector, with a focus on EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) projects.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with general contractors, industry partners, and key stakeholders.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and market developments to identify strategic opportunities.
  • Sales Strategy:
    Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve annual revenue targets, ranging from $3-5 million.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to create effective sales materials and campaigns that showcase the value proposition of our commercial solar solutions.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential clients, industry trends, and competitive offerings.
  • Partnership Management:
    Establish and manage strategic partnerships with general contractors, developers, and other key players in the commercial solar industry.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless project delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Act as a liaison between the company and industry partners, fostering strong, mutually beneficial relationships.
  • Sales Performance and Reporting:
    Track and analyze sales performance against targets, providing regular updates to leadership.
  • Prepare and deliver sales forecasts, reports, and presentations to highlight achievements and areas for improvement.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of successful business development and sales in the commercial solar or renewable energy industry.
  • Strong understanding of solar project development, EPC processes, and industry regulations.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate and close deals, with a focus on exceeding sales targets.
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
Compensation
  • Base salary: $70,000 per year
  • Commission:
    Competitive commission structure based on sales performance
