A Brief Overview

At the front line of the Safelite experience, the Auto Glass Technician is an entrepreneurial, hands‑on professional that leverages Safelite training, industry‑leading tools, and technology to complete repairs, replacements, and recalibrations in the shop and on the go with our Mobile Glass Shop offerings.

What You Will Do
  • Provide all vehicle glass repair and replacement services at a Safelite Shop or Mobile Glass Shop in the most efficient manner, focusing on safety, quality, and exceptional customer service; clean customer vehicles after every job.
  • Recalibrate automotive safety systems, troubleshoot, and complete diagnostic testing.
  • Proficiently operate Safelite tools and technologies, including True Seal®, Ezi‑Wire™, Glass Table System (GTS), required chemicals, Safelite’s work‑order and customer administration systems, and handheld Mobile Resource Management (MRM) technology.
  • Safely operate company and customer vehicles throughout the workday.
  • Communicate with all scheduled customers in‑person, via text, and phone; present, promote, and sell Safelite promotional items and services.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Comply with all company policies and standards.

Education Qualifications
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent (preferred).
  • Valid state‑issued driver’s license; other licenses required by law.
  • Safelite Safe Tech™ certification (required).
Experience Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 years old (required).
Skills and Abilities
  • Regularly lift and carry up to 35 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds.
  • Stand for extended periods, work in tight spaces, bend, and twist body.
  • Use a variety of hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Operate a motor vehicle in compliance with all applicable laws; be monitored via in‑cab safety camera and video surveillance.
  • Maintain professionalism and a passion for outstanding customer service.
  • Work safely outside in varied weather and extreme temperatures.
  • Use chemicals (including flammable chemicals) per the Safelite Way of Fitting.
  • Work scheduled days with flexibility on start and end times to meet customer needs.
  • Proficient with computerized diagnostic tools for recalibration and troubleshooting.
  • Problem‑solve independently and collaboratively.
  • Read, write, and interpret English and technical directions.
  • Communicate orally via phone and in writing via computer or other electronic means.
  • Maintain a professional appearance, following uniform and PPE policies.
  • Maintain stable performance under pressure, productivity measures, or personal difficulties.

Driving duties will be monitored through the use of cameras, GPS, and other tracking technologies to ensure safety and compliance.
