Compensation:
The pay range for this position is $21.50 - $25.75 per hour. Base pay may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, shift differentials and experience. Additional shift differentials include $2.75 per hour overnight (10pm-6am), $1.75 per hour evening (6pm-10pm), and $1 per hour weekend hours. Differentials can be combined.

- Accept calls and respond to Dispatch or members with ETA to destination. Locate members, greet them, and address emotional states (e.g., calm angry or anxious members) while handling technical aspects of the situation. Assess scene safety to ensure vehicle is in a safe location.
- Provide minor mechanical assistance (if trained) and towing service: ask probing questions to diagnose breakdown causes, make preliminary determinations, obtain assistance if needed, provide battery boost, and follow all safety procedures. Safely tow vehicles according to club policies and towing manual guidelines.
- Maintain AAA high standards: keep service vehicle and equipment in safe working order, maintain inventory of tools and products, follow traffic law and safety procedures, present a professional image, follow temporary repairs to ensure safety, operate the vehicle MDC computer, collect revenue accurately, and safeguard confidential information.
- Promote AAA products and services: educate members on battery replacement, refer calls to appropriate technicians, promote other services, and work with Dispatch to get members to desired destinations (e.g., hotels, airline reservations, rental cars).
- Work independently with minimal face‑to‑face contact with the service team. Be flexible and adapt to a variety of shifts to cover a 24/7 operation.
- Take special care to prevent damage and injury when locating securing points and responding to changing vehicle dynamics during towing.
- Work under pressure, in busy circumstances, with various traffic and weather conditions.
- Other duties may be assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED required
- At least 21 years of age required
- Post‑secondary training in automotive mechanics and familiarity with electrical troubleshooting required
- Active and valid driver’s license issued by one state or jurisdiction
- DOT card pre‑hire and current employee within 1 year
- Satisfactory motor vehicle record check during pre‑hire and periodically in accordance with policy
