Description

The Town of West Springfield seeks a qualified individual to fill the position of full‑time Building Custodian. Under the general supervision of the Director of Central Maintenance and Deputy Director‑Buildings, this position handles cleaning and routine maintenance of the West Springfield School Buildings.

• General cleaning of windows, floors, furniture, washing and polishing of floors, cleaning of rugs
• Minor repair work, painting, snow removal and other duties as assigned
• Work schedule:
  
  Monday through Friday 3:00pm-11:00pm

• Completion of a standard grade school curriculum
• Possession of a valid drivers’ license
• At least two (2) years of prior experience as a custodian in a similar position
• Previous education or training in vocational schools, or graduation from high school desired
• Equivalent combination of training and experience that provides requisite knowledge, abilities and skills may be considered at the discretion of the Town

This position is included in the United Public Service Employees’ custodial bargaining unit.
