Responsibilities

• Lay out, cut and fabricate any system of pipes, valves, traps, regulators and ect. from blueprints or verbal instructions.
• Maintain and repair all types of valves, regulators, traps and ect.
• Maintain and repair high pressure hydraulic systems, boilers, associated piping and accessories, steam jacketed pressure vessels, sewage plant, clarifier, linseed and hydraulic oil separator.
• Make decisions concerning the feasibility of salvaging or scrapping equipment or parts removed for repair or replacement.
• Assist other crafts.

Tools and Equipment

• Typical craftsmen tools i.e. hammers, wrenches, screw drivers, punches, chisels, level and ect.
• Transportation vehicles
• Oil cans and grease guns
• May be required to work at heights and/or in confined spaces.
• May work alone with minimal supervision or with other maintenance crafts
• Work in various areas of the plant, which dependent on the area, environmental conditions can be hot, cold, dirty, greasy, wet, and noisy.
• High School Diploma or equivalency
• Possess a valid driver’s license
• Skills assessment and;
• Ability to work shift work and rotating schedules; including daily and weekend overtime and call-outs for repairs and break down situations to limit downtime, preventative maintenance tasks, and root cause analysis
• 4 years of Manufacturing and/or heavy industrial experience working in the skilled trade
