Cobb - Poultry Farm Worker; Farm Crew Bear Hollow Farm

Schedule:

Monday through Friday from 5:00am to 1:00pm or until the job is complete. The work schedule is subject to change based on production needs.

Starting pay: $18.00 per hour plus shift differential for evenings, nights, and weekends.

• Catch, identify, and move birds during flock housing, pullet removal, and spent hen removal.
• Perform toe/beak trimming and flock vaccinations.
• Conduct house clean‑out and setup, sanitation, mortality disposal, and yard maintenance.
• Use wire cutters to remove wing and leg bands and badges from hens prior to live haul.
• Load spent hens into trailers for transport to live haul bays and load empty modules onto trailers using a forklift.
• Operate trimmers to trim toenails and/or beaks.
• Properly euthanize pedigree birds and transport them to incineration for disposal.
• Remove used litter, place new shavings, and maintain litter in production.
• Run belts and/or augers to remove litter and spent feed and operate tractors with loaders to mix litter for removal.
• Obtain fat samples from euthanized birds for pesticide residue testing, spread shavings on trailer floor, and maintain equipment fluid levels, filters, and tire pressure.
• Control vegetation and perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

• At least 12 months of consecutive work history with one employer and no employment gaps greater than 6 months in the past 36 months.
• Employment gaps of up to 18 months are allowed for layoffs, child or elder care responsibilities.
• Individuals who have been full‑time students for the last 36 months are exempt from work history requirements.
• Rehire requires a minimum waiting period of 180 days and a maximum of three rehirings at Cobb/Tyson Foods.
• Must reside in the United States.
• Preferred:
  Prior agricultural or production experience.

• Use safe lifting techniques; lift or carry birds weighing up to 18lb, shavings bundles up to 12lb, mortality up to 35lb, gas‑powered blowers up to 25lb, weed eaters up to 20lb, and high‑pressure sprayers up to 90lb.
• Stand on concrete, walk, sit, reach, bend, and balance as required.
• Maintain good vision including close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception.

• Hand tools: brooms, shovels, wire cutters, vaccination gun, stick needle, eye drop bottle, animal tag pliers, safety knife.
• Power tools: drill, gas‑powered backpack blower.
• Heavy equipment: forklift, dump truck, skid‑steer, tractor with snow‑plow attachment, trailer with gas‑powered sprayer, pallet jack, flatbed truck, lawn mower, weed eater.
