Housekeeper, Full‑Time
Job OverviewThe Housekeeper cleans and sanitizes public spaces, common areas, and resident apartments to maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors. This role involves interacting with residents and guests in a friendly and courteous manner while ensuring adherence to all safety and cleaning protocols.
Responsibilities- Floor Maintenance: Sweep, dust, damp mop, wet mop, strip, wax, and buff floors as needed. Set up and remove caution signs to ensure resident and visitor safety.
- Carpet Cleaning: Vacuum, shampoo, deodorize, and disinfect carpets.
- Surface Cleaning: Clean and disinfect surfaces by removing dirt, dust, grease, and residue using appropriate solutions. Handle hazardous cleaning supplies according to procedures and ensure proper labeling.
- Bathroom Cleaning: Clean and sanitize public restrooms, ensuring fixtures are polished and free of watermarks.
- Resident Apartment Cleaning: Clean assigned apartments, including floors, fixtures, and surfaces; vacuum, dust, and change linens while respecting resident privacy and preferences.
- Resident Interaction: Provide friendly and attentive service to residents and report any health or safety concerns to management.
- Documentation: Record and log cleaning activities in accordance with established procedures.
- Emergency Response: Assist with disaster response efforts and follow protocols when responding to resident emergencies.
- Training & Development: Participate in in‑service training and on‑the‑job education as required.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience: Prior cleaning or housekeeping experience preferred.
- Skills: Basic technical skills to perform repetitive, well‑defined tasks, with knowledge of standard organizational practices.
