Job Overview

The Residential Housekeeper is responsible for the cleanliness of the campus facilities as directed.

Essential Duties
  • Obtain cleaning supplies from campus storeroom, replenish supplies as needed.
  • Clean designated areas of the administration, clinical buildings and outside areas (vacuum, dust, remove trash, sweep, mop, etc.).
  • Clean classrooms, common areas and offices of the school, to include waxing, buffing and stripping floors as necessary or assigned.
  • Be readily accessible to respond to unexpected/unscheduled cleaning request and be prepared to deal with removal of body excretions and other infection control situations.
  • Clean, scour, and sanitize restroom of all buildings.
  • Responsible for removal and storage of bio-hazard trash in the women’s restroom in accordance with OSHA policies.
  • Wash windows seasonally.
  • Shampoo carpets at least annually in common areas or as necessary or assigned.
  • Be responsible for housekeeping; including reporting maintenance needs to the Office Manager and follow up on completion of the task.
  • Assist with upkeep of the grounds of buildings as necessary or requested to include mulching, shrub trimming, or other duties as assigned.
  • Can support the mission and vision of Burlington United Methodist Family Services as evidenced by compliance with all organizational policies and procedures.
  • Supports and facilitates positive interaction with others as evidenced by: professional maturity, respect for others, a team-centered approach, maintenance of confidential information, and an appreciation of a multicultural workplace.
  • Exhibits effective communication skills including proper use of agency communication systems.
  • Limited driving position.

Qualifications & Core Competencies
  • Education level:
    Possess at least a high school diploma or GED.
  • Experience:

    Not required.
